Garbage & Recycling

Effective immediately (May 6), the only plastic items that will be allowed are those with number 1 or 2 on them. All other plastic must not be put in the blue recycling cans. For more information, click here.

Both waste collection and recycling are contracted with Logan City. In Richmond, waste is picked up every Friday beginning at 7:00 am; recycling bins are collected every other Friday. Please check this calendar for the 2019 recycling collections. Instead of week 1 or 2, it's now Schedule A or B. Richmond is on Schedule B (the old week 2).

This link will take you to the Logan Environmental Department website for more information on landfill hours, what items should not be placed in the blue recycling bins, and general information on the philosophy of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle."

During the holiday season, wrapping paper is accepted but foil wrappings, ribbons, and bows are not to be placed in the recycling container.

Do you have a vehicle you'd like to donate? Wheels for Wishes is a non-profit organization that will pick up donated vehicles, at no cost to their owners, and recycle or auction them to benefit Make-A-Wish Utah. Contact them at (855) 417-9474 for more information.

The green waste and garbage dumpsters are open on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or until full. There is a charge for garbage loads.

The dumpsters are located at the south end of the Black & White Pavilion at 50 S State Street.
